ʜɪsᴛᴏʀʏ: Throughout the period of time he’s been able to live, Riversnout has been blessed to have started with a seemingly normal life. His elder mother was a very supportive and peaceful she-cat, encouraging him and his brother to do the best they could for the clan. In truth the only hardship he might have truly faced is that of his departed brother Smogpaw. Opposites in every way, the two often found themselves at odds with each other. Smogpaw always wanted to be daring and heroic, lead on by his own ambitions and striving to reach the top ranks one day. Rivesnout could never relate to him in that way, and because he had no dreams of his own his brother often accused him of wasting his abilities. Even if they cared about one another, it seemed impossible for them to see eye to eye.Tragedy struck when Smogpaw was struck by a falling bolder and had one of his legs crushed. He tried to learn out to fight and hunt again but became easily frustrated with himself. He began to view himself as a burden to the clan, and in his last days was very bitter and hateful towards himself. Eventually he stopped eating and, despite his family’s pleas, refused to continue on. He passed away when Riversnout was 11 moons old, his mother following suit due to old age about 3 moons later. It was a rough time for him, but it was many moons ago and so the pain is no longer fresh. However he still carries a burden and takes responsibility for what happened.

[ Distant | Compassionate | Remorseful | Encouraging | Helpful | Obedient | Patient | Nurturing ]
[ Distant ]
Though he is an overall nice tom, there seems to be an invisible gap he keeps between himself and everyone else. You wouldn’t catch it right away; it takes some time to pick up on it after all. He does what he can to help his clan, but other than that it’s as if he lacks any sort of connection with his clan-mates outside a feeling of responsibility. Riversnout is driven to do what he can to be helpful, but other than that there’s no deep emotions he shares towards anyone in particular. It seems that he does everything for the clan, but not necessarily for his clan-mates.
[ Compassionate ]
One of his major flaws is that he is far to quick to try and find a reason to show grace on those who are guilty. To see other people in pain, be it self-inflicted or not, is a stinging feeling that cutes deep into his chest. It’s not as if it’s the person themselves that drives him to defend, it’s just the thought of their pain that stirs his heart. He wants to show mercy too others despite what they might have done wrong, and is quick to defend people who seem to dealing with uncomfortable emotions.
[ Remorseful ]
Lose of someone you love does some funny things to you, especially if you feel you could have done more. Riversnout never did fully forgive himself for what happened to Smongpaw, despite the fact that he couldn’t have done anything to prevent what happened. He hold on to the guilt he feels, often asking the grand 'what if' question and wishing he had been able to do more. Even if it's not healthy to live his life in such a way, it does help to fuel his desire to protect his clan. After all, that's all Smogpaw ever wanted.
[ Encouraging ]
Encouragement is something that Riversnout excels in, even on his bad days he always has some kind of compliment to hand out. He takes after his mother in this way, who was known to be an optimistic presence in her younger days, though there's more to it than simply wanting to be seem as a friendly citizen. In fact, it once again traces back to his departed brother.
It was hard to watch his brother become so aggravated when trying to learn how to fight again, it made him angry that his mentor was pushing him so hard. He could remember the frustration on his brothers face each time he feel down, and how he wanted to say something that might make it less painful. It's for this reason that he works so hard to boost up his clan-mates, because he doesn't want them to give up when times get tough.
[ Helpful ]
One of his most noticeable traits is that he is a rather helpful tom, always stepping up to the plate when it comes to patrolling and cleaning. It helps to give him something to do so that his mind doesn't wonder, and it's a nice feeling to be of use to others.
[ Obedient ]
Someone you would call a 'yes' man of sorts. There isn't much fight in him and he's quick to follow orders without asking questions. Unless he feels that there is something wrong with the commands he's been given, he tends not to voice out any opinions concerning the task at hand.
[ Patient ]
He's a very level-headed tom who know the importance in taking time to learn something correctly. It's to his strong opinion that others shouldn't rush into anything head first, comparing it to jumping into a stream without knowing how deep the water might be. Riversnout is known to take his time perfection what he does, and because of this is a fairly successful hunter for his clan.
[ Nurturing ]
Towards kits and apprentices especially, Riversnout shows a much softer side of himself. The youth of the clan are the future, and it's important to him that all the little ones are well taken care of. His gentle attitude and praise tends to make him rather popular among the youngsters of the clan, and he always finds time to play with the kits of course.
ʟɪᴋᴇs: Riversnout enjoys several activities, such as patrolling and hunting prey. Helping around camp and making himself useful are also good distractions for him, and a morning run never hurt anyone either.
ᴅɪsʟɪᴋᴇs: Fighting is at the top of this list, not only because he's not very good at it but also simply because he doesn't enjoy it. Along with that, he's not to fond of the taste of mice (but won't complain if he has to eat one).
ᴀᴘᴘᴇᴀʀᴀɴᴄᴇ
sʜᴏʀᴛ ᴅᴇsᴄʀɪᴘᴛɪᴏɴ: A fluffy, sliver marbled tabby tom-cat with pale blue eyes.
ʟᴏɴɢ ᴅᴇsᴄʀɪᴘᴛɪᴏɴ: Riversnout is a long-legged tom with a lighter colored silver and grey coat, adorned with marbled tabby markings. He has quite a bit od fluff to him, mostly on his cheeks, ears, tail, and underbelly, though his chest, neck, and legs seem to be a bit sleeker in comparison. He has fairly long limbs and a slightly longer than average tail that provides him with a strong balance. The color of his eyes is a fairly pale and almost washed-out looking blue, seeming to be a bit cloudy but darkening in color around his pupil area.
ʙᴜɪʟᴅ: He's rather slim and fit, having exceptionally strong back legs.
ғᴜʀ: For the most part it's rather fluffy, but he keeps it in check with his grooming. It can be difficult to pull little twigs and leaves out at times, and when it rains his belly often gets dirtied by the ground below.
ᴇʏᴇs: A very pale blue cold that gets slightly darker around the pupil.

A gust of cool air and the feeling of curled leaves crunching under his paws was all that Riversnout needed in order to conclude that leaf-fall was most certainly here. The peaceful passing from green leaf to leaf bare, assuring that the chilling season would soon claim the lands in it’s icy grip. He didn’t dread the upcoming snow as much as he had the previous year, this time he had better prepared himself for the biting winds and numbing ice. Still the time for such things was still a ways off, so he pushed the thoughts away and enjoyed the view before him instead.
Morning patrols were always a favorite, it didn’t do him well to sleep in most days. Rest was nice but to much would dull his senses, and the last thing he wished for was to be considered a lazy old fur ball. Besides that, it seemed as though the morning group was always more mellow than the later patrols. When the Earth awoke she was quiet and just beginning to hum with life. Birds chirping, mice rustling in the leaves, thin rays of light streaming through the gaps of leaves above, all little things that the tom found peaceful to encounter on his strolls.
[ Hope that works, I can make it longer is needed /w\ Just sort of a quick thing, I normally can pull off much greater lengths ] [/ul][/ul][/ul]
